Rome – 2011

I’ve been in love with Italy since I was small. My stepmother had spent 11 years living in Rome, and so much of my childhood was spent eating Pasta and learning basic Italian.

While planning our escape from France, Aidan and I decided to visit Rome for our anniversary/Valentine’s Day – which both fall on Feb 14th. What better destination could there be for a romantic holiday?

Our 5 days in Rome was spent eating, walking, and with our eyes wide open. I had never imagined how overflowing with culture Rome could be. There is literally a church every 5 metres, each one filled with the most amazing frescos, sculptures, and stained glass you could ever see. And on top of it, the ruins of ancient Rome lie right in the middle of the city!

We had an absolute blast and left very much wanting to stay forever!
