Ombrellos was always my favourite restaurant as a child. My obsession with Italian food was totally over the top, and year after year Ombrellos was my destination for birthdays, xmas parties and special occasions.
So when Katie and Josh took over late last year, I was excited to see what they would do with the place – which by then needed a little revamp and refresh – and it was a lovely surprise to see that the place had been transformed into a beautiful dining & drinks experience, with bright colours, persian rugs, & a covered courtyard. And not only that – the menu had been updated with a deliciously modern and interesting flare!
I could pretty much eat a whole bowl of their Salt & Pepper Squid with palm sugar syrup…. and the main of beef was superbly cooked. Mouth watering.
Since then, I’ve been back on several different occasions – A christmas party, drinks, dinner and to photograph once more for Katie & Josh – and each time I love it even more. And it’s lovely in all seasons, with an open fire in the courtyard and shade sails for summer. A must for Friday night drinks or a romantic night out!
