Miga Korean BBQ – The Last One!

 

Phew! I’ve made it! Number 52.

 

52 Restaurants in 52 weeks, is one of the most interesting projects I’ve been assigned to ever, and of course the MOST delicious!

 

For those of you who are just joining, the 52 project was dreamed up by the lovely folks down at Tourism Dunedin, (almost 2 years ago now!) who saw the project as a great way to sell Dunedin as a food destination, and also to introduce locals to cafes and restaurants that they might never have considered going to before.

It has been running weekly in the local paper DScene, and is also featured on dunedinnz.com, the website of Dunedin.

 

This project has taken me everywhere from Mosgiel to Moeraki, and I can now say I’ve been to almost every restaurant and cafe in Dunedin! I’ve sampled foods I’d never tried… foie gras, octopus, goat and kimchi, eaten my way around the cultural food mecca that Dunedin is, and met some amazing people along the way.

I’ve put on 5kg in the process, but I don’t regret an ounce of it!

 

I’ll miss this job immensely, but we have a new project waiting in the wings! Homegrown is on it’s way, so keep an eye out in the New Year for some tasty locally produced food and beverages!
