A few weeks ago I travelled up to Glenorchy to do a special shoot for my good friend Debbie.
Debbie is an amazing chef – and after years of working in some of the top restaurants in NZ (including holding the Executive Chef positions at Millbrook, Blanket Bay & Chef de Cuisine at The Spire), Debbie has now started her own private catering business.
Debbie’s Private Restaurants are an experience you won’t get anywhere else.
The idea behind these dinners is not only amazing food – but a total experience. Imagine arriving blindfolded to a mystery destination in a beautiful landscape, drinking Champagne and eating canapes while lounging on antique furniture in a meadow – then being led into an amazing dining room set up in any place from an old woolshed, shearer’s quarters, to a multi million dollar residence overlooking a lake.
From there you are served with a delicious 7 course dinner, tailored to your tastes by Debbie (generally focusing on brilliant local produce and specialties) – and then picked up full and happy at midnight, dropped to your door. Amazing. And yes, Debbie can travel outside of Central Otago!
Having witnessed this in person – I absolutely can’t wait for my 30th birthday dinner – she’s already booked in!
Debbie also caters small weddings, hires dinner & serve-ware, & takes Gourmet Experience Tours around Central Otago.
